David Lilburn is a visual artist and printmaker.
Maps / map-making, landscape and the graphic techniques of intaglio printmaking are continuous sources of inspiration for his work. There is a strong narrative interest in his images, which are packed with topographical, historical and anecdotal information.
Drawing is central preoccupation which underpins his graphic work.
He studied history at Trinity College Dublin, and art at the Scuole Istituto Statale D’Arte, Urbino, and Limerick School of Art and Design.
He is a member of Limerick Printmakers, an associate member of Cork Printmakers and a Trustee of the National Self-Portrait Collection.
