Timothy Emlyn Jones
Timothy Emlyn Jones is a Welsh-Irish artist who has lived and worked in the Burren for the last twenty-one years. Educated at the Royal College of Art, London, and the Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris, he was also a member of Joseph Beuys’s Free International University (FIU).
He began in performance art, until drawing took over. He exhibits internationally and has participated in the group exhibitions Documenta, Kassel (with the FIU), Sao Paulo Museum of Modern Art, Prospectiva in Wroclaw, Poland, and the Budapest Spring Festival at the Hungarian Academy of Art amongst others. He has also exhibited in the RHA and RA summer exhibitions several times. He is represented in public collections in several countries including the Irish State Art Collection (OPW), the UK Government Art Collection, the Royal Collection (UK) and the Ashmolean Museum.
He has held professorships at Wimbledon College of Art, Glasgow School of Art, Xian Academy of Fine Art, China, and at Burren College of Art where he continues to teach part time. He is a member of the European Cultural Parliament and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers.
